Merkister Hotel - Harray

Tasty and good breakfast with variety of hot/cold dishes. Incredibly comfortable and sumptuous rooms with a great view for hotel guests. Unique location normal on islands and special atmosphere in the whole property;)))

The fine food was a good touch. The room was big size and bright and had outstanding views of sunrise and sunset. This accommodation had a remote setting on a lake with migrating birds. Moreover, it's so close to Scotland and the Orkneys, the island and an early ferry and the staff who were very friendly especially the two lady owners.

The location is remote. Again, its 2 miles from Loch of Harray...

The rooms are sumptuous and wonderful here with the bar and a shower. The hotel provided an exceptional customer service during our trip.

The personal touch of receiving a birthday card at dinner and the deliciously fresh fish dishes truly made our stay memorable.

During my stay, I enjoyed a super comfortable room with amazing views, and the staff were friendly and helpful, making my time there nice in this serene setting.

The breakfast choices were good, particularly the scrambled eggs and toast that I still crave. The staff went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed.

The room was quite cozy but not overly spacious.

Loved the cozy vibe and the fine views over the loch. The fishing trip was epic, with a great guide helping us land some nice trout!

Make sure to reserve a table at the restaurant, as it gets busy. The local seafood is exceptional.

We had a super chill stay. The place was right by a beautiful loch with hills all around. The staff were awesome! They even offered us a ride to our next spot, saving us a taxi fare. The food in the bar was delish, especially the local seafood. Just wish the WiFi was a bit better.

The fine views over the loch create a serene atmosphere that's hard to match. Each meal was excellent, especially the pasta options, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The portion control during breakfast was a bit strict, and the dinner options felt limited after a few nights. Still, the overall experience was enjoyable, with attentive service and comfortable accommodations.

Really good cleanliness set the tone for our stay. The rooms were the cleanest I've encountered. The outdoor views were amazing, especially from the lovely dining room overlooking the loch. Food options, particularly the hot sandwiches, were plentiful and delicious. While the service was generally friendly, a couple of minor delays with our meal orders detracted slightly from the experience.

The homemade shortbread provided daily was a delightful touch, and enjoying fresh seafood while overlooking Loch Harray made every meal memorable.
